We’ve put together a list of a few stalls and specialities that you simply must share with your other half:
- Hazia, for a glass of Irouléguy,
- ‘Lait 2 Fromagers’ or ‘Fromages et Compagnie’, to try some sheep’s-milk cheese or an Ossau-Iraty,
- Montauzer, for its charcuterie and the unmissable Bayonne ham,
- La Marée des 5 Cantons – Chez Péan, for seafood,
- Eugénie Bakery, for a Basque cake.
From Les Halles, you can then continue your walk towards the Cinq Cantons, head into the Chiberta Forest, or make your way back down to the beach for a romantic moment overlooking the ocean.

Climb the Love Tower
A monumental wooden sculpture by the Japanese artist Tadashi Kawamata, the Love Tower towers over the cliffs of Cap Saint-Martin. Standing four metres tall, with its spiral staircase and viewing platform, it offers a beautiful view of the beaches of La Chambre d’Amour, the Angloy coastline and the Landes coast.
It’s the perfect spot for a couple: you can get a bit of a view from up high, gaze out at the ocean and enjoy the scenery hand in hand. From Les Terrasses, it takes about 45 minutes on foot along the coast, or around ten minutes by car, to reach this iconic spot in Anglet.
Take a stroll to the Chambre d’Amour cave
The Chambre d’Amour cave takes its name from a legend well known in Anglet. Two young lovers, Saubade, the daughter of a wealthy farmer, and Laorens, a young orphaned fisherman, would meet there in secret, away from the watchful eyes of their families.
Today, the cave has become a must-see attraction for couples visiting Anglet. It can be reached from the Chambre d’Amour seafront promenade, at the foot of the Cap Saint-Martin cliff. From Les Terrasses, it’s about a 45-minute walk along the seafront, or around ten minutes by car.
The cliff, the ocean, the sound of the waves and this love story give the place a unique atmosphere. A simple, symbolic stroll that’s a must for all couples visiting Anglet.
